Axl’s Garage with Eilert Gezelius

I got a new friend yesterday. His name is Eilert Gezelius and he is 60+ years old. It’s funny how age doesn’t really matter, especially when you have something in common. In this case it’s motors, photography and an urge to reach out with our interests to a broader audience.

Eilert is a well known photographer, author and founder of the Facebook group MOTOR NORR. We have met at various motor-events before and last week he asked me if I wanted to join him on a trip to Axl’s garage Open House in Överkalix. Of course I had to say yes!

We had a really nice time both to and from Axl’s garage. While driving he told me stories about his time as a testdriver for new snowmobiles in America, crazy photo episodes and how he borrowed his dads Volvo PV in secret to his very first rally debut (!) As you might guess his father wasn’t particularly happy when he found out…

I have uploaded a video on YouTube from the event, you can watch it here:

Axel Andersson is a young car-builder-genius who has the company Axl’s Garage in Överkalix. On this particularly day he had an open house for everyone who wanted to come and see the garage and some of the cars.

I’m happy to have been able to visit Axl’s garage and see some of their work. As a bonus many of the visitors had really nice enthusiast cars too. Overall it was a cozy and laid back event! They even grilled hamburgers and gave to everyone who wanted one ♥
